Solar MPPT Charger

6–18V solar to LiPo MPPT, USB-C 5V out

About this design

A solar MPPT (maximum power point tracking) battery charger accepting 6–18V panels and producing a regulated 5V USB-C output, with 1S LiPo intermediate storage. Implements perturb-and-observe MPPT in firmware on a low-power MCU.

Typical applications

Off-grid IoT power supplies, camping and portable solar kits, rural sensor networks, low-cost emergency lighting. Pairs well with the LoRa tracker for fully autonomous remote nodes.

Compliance scope

LVD, EN 55032, EN 61000-4-2/4/5, IEC 62133 for the LiPo cell.
